Pilasters are flat
columnar elements that are placed on a wall bordering a door or a
window. They can extend a full storey on the buildings exterior. When a
pilaster has greater depth than the normal flat pilasters, they are
considered to be a half column or less than half an Engage column.
Pilasters capitals follow in the
Orders of classical columns
Tuscan-Doric,
Corinthian, Ionic,
Empire, Composite, and
Temple of the Winds
(Tower of the Winds). Elongated pilaster capitals are called
Consoles as part of the corbel
designation. Pilaster Shafts can be Fluted or Smooth. The
Pilaster bases Tuscan or for the Classical Orders Attic Style.
