from the Italian Renaissance
(14th
century), they have great
appeal today in both classical or
modern
architecture.
2 Types: Solid & Hollow
* Solid Bases take the load from
the shaft
* Hollow Bases have the shaft
inside bearing down on the
substrata with the base acting
as a wrap around ring
* Non Wood Tuscan bases are
made from molds, while
custom hardwood bases can
be made to your specifications
