The Temple of the Winds is simplified variation of the Greek Corinthian. Found in the Athens Agora the "Temple of the Winds" is really the Tower of the winds which housed a water clock. The capitals held up the porticos. This distinctive capital was documented by James Stuart and Nicholas Revett (1751 to 1753). There is one row of acanthus leaves with a row of plain water leaves supporting a square abacus. The base is always an Attic Style. Shafts can be Fluted, Smooth or Rope profiles. | IPTW0808S-TWAB is a 98-1/4" high FRP-PolyCompTM Temple Winds Column Tapered meaning the top of the shaft (6-1/4") is smaller than the bottom diameter of the shaft (7-5/8"). By convention the taper ends 1/3rd from the shaft bottom. The capital and base are hollow with the load bearing shaft sitting on the level substrate. All loads must be centered on the shaft. The astragal is integrated in the column. The Capital is Temple of the Winds and the Attic base is hollow wrapping the shaft and does not add to the height. Customize by optional factory cuts. Specify Split for Pilaster up against a wall, Split for Post wrap, Wedged for an outside corners, Section cut for Wall Wraps - specify the size, Quartered for inside corners, or Engaged for portion cuts for Pilaster applications. Can wrap a round post of 3-1/4" as the inside of the Temple Capital is 3-1/2". This column can be ordered FactoryPainted or components can be RealMetalCoated, or FireRated.
